I was so excited when Lilac Clothing said they would provide an outfit for me to wear at ABC Kids Expo. I love the Lilac tops I have and could not wait to try out their “famous” tummy slimming jeans. (Not that I expected much tummy slimming at 27 weeks pregnant.) I first heard about Lilac Clothing on one of my all time favorite sites BabySteals.com. With all the good things you hear, you’d almost think that Lilac pays the BabySteals fans to rave about their clothing on BabySteals Facebook page (I’m pretty sure they don’t).

Lilac Clothing sent me a pair of Dressy Bootcut Tummy Trimmer Denim jeans and a Bella Top in Plum to wear to ABC Kids. Here I am half way through a crazy day of checking out cool new products. The outfit is super comfortable and I got a bunch of compliments on it. I even got one comment that I looked small for 27 weeks, my first such comment for this pregnancy where I have combined second baby early belly popping with excessive carb consumption. I’m going to attribute it to the Tummy Trimmer Denim and a too kind fellow mama.

Clothing for Every Body

You may be thinking, “Tummy Trimmer Denim? If there is one time in my life I don’t need Tummy Trimmer Denim it’s during pregnancy.” Or that’s what I was thinking any way. Well it turns out that Lilac doesn’t design their clothing just to make you look good during pregnancy. They design their clothing to look good on every body: pregnancy to postpartum, ideal body weight to carrying a few extra pounds. Tummy Trimmer Denim has a nice belly panel that stretches to fit and support your growing belly while pregnant and also holds in all those extra jiggles when you aren’t pregnant any more and maybe are still working on those last few pounds (weight-loss is hard work and you have a newborn at home thank you very much). I can’t comment on how well the Tummy Trimmer works after pregnancy, but I really appreciated the support as I was running around all day with my preggo belly.

The Fall-Winter Collection

The Bella Top in Plum is just part of the great Fall-Winter collection. There are so many cute new styles and fun fall colors. I love that the pieces can be dressed up or down and I can look great while staying comfortable with the breathable stretch fabrics. The Gabrielle Top (above) and the Ashley Cardigan outfit (below) are two of my favorite looks.

To Buy or Not to Buy

To Buy… Lilac Clothing is super comfortable and looks great. Every woman deserves at least one great pair of jeans when she’s pregnant and Lilac Denim delivers.

Or Not to Buy… Let’s see, you can wear Lilac clothing before you get pregnant, while you are pregnant, after you have baby and while nursing, I’m kind of having trouble thinking of a reason not to buy Lilac.

Shop! Dressy Bootcut Tummy Trimmer Denim is $92 and the Bella Top in a variety of seasonal colors is $68. Both items and all the new fall and winter looks are available on-line at lilacclothing.com and at select stores world wide (see list at Lilac’s website). Want a better deal? Malia

Malia

After a year and a half of motherhood, Malia is finding life as a full time work-outside-the-home mom much, much more rewarding and both more and less challenging than she expected. She's constantly amazed by the wonderful new little person in her life and all his antics, but also thoroughly enjoys leaving him in loving care while she works in "grown up land" (on most days anyway). Her family will soon be growing as they plan to welcome a baby girl into the family this winter. Her impending arrival has everyone excited and a little freaked out (except for baby Jack, who at 18 months is still blissfully clueless).
