american girl logoIf you follow us on any of our social media channels, you may have caught our breaking American Girl news on Friday: Bitty Baby dolls are being re-vamped and the collection expanded.

The new Bitty Baby dolls have a slightly different face, with bigger cheeks (we LOVE cheeks!). The dolls remain 15 inches in size and, of course, super cute. The selection will expand from 7 dolls to 11 with new combinations of skin tone, eye and hair color. The additional dolls means even more girls can find dolls that look like them.

After selecting her doll from the expanded choices, a girl will receive her Bitty Baby doll dressed in a signature sleeper, along with a special “wishing star” keepsake toy and  Bitty Baby and Me, the first in a series of five hardcover picture books that inspire fun ways to play.  If you’ve seen the current Bitty Baby books, they leave a little to be desired. The new books are beautiful and more in line with the quality we expect from American Girl books.  The new picture-book collection, brought to life by Newbery Honor Award author Kirby Larson and award-winning illustrator Sue Cornelison, follows a little girl and her beloved Bitty Baby doll as they discover the world around them.
