Around the World TSM

The amazing Around the World with Kids Pinterest giveaway is in full swing! We are delighted with the response and have really enjoyed all of your #kidaroundtheworld boards and pins.

As far as we’re concerned a good lightweight stroller is simply a must have for traveling with babies and young children. So, of course, our Around the World with Kids giveaway features the very best lightweight stroller we’ve ever used. Yes, the best. The Valco Baby Snap has everything from a teeny weight of less than 13 pounds to a huge expanding sun canopy and infinite recline. It truly has it all.

Valco Snap 3 Video

Take a look at our latest video to see Snap in action: a day in the life exploring Germany with the Valco Baby Snap Stroller.

Valco Baby Snap Stroller

  • Overall stroller weight: 13 pounds!
  • 44 pound maximum child weight
  • Full, infinite recline suitable for infants
  • Wide 13 inch seat width
  • 8 inch front and 10 inch rear never-flat rubber wheels
  • Toddler proof 5-point harness

With our extensive travel with kids in mind, we’ve been testing the Valco Baby Snap Stroller. The most remarkable feature for travel – and every day use – is the extremely light weight of the stroller. It weighs less than 13 pounds and has a convenient carry handle and shoulder strap for taking it around airports or in and out of a car trunk. The stroller folds quite flat and you can even wheel it behind you when on the move.

Just because the stroller is light and portable doesn’t mean it’s missing comfort features or lacking functionality. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. The Snap has a HUGE seat. It’s 13 inches wide, 19 inches tall with a total height of 26.5 inches from seat to the top of the canopy. All of my kids fit in the seat, and 27 pound, 16 month old Max has plenty of room to spare. Speaking of the canopy, it’s also HUGE. It has a zipper extension to provide lots of sun protection whether the seat is upright or reclined.

The large Snap seat reclines with a simple one-handed recline mechanism with infinite positions from upright to flat. There is a peekaboo window and venting on the back of the seat to provide a glimpse of baby and airflow for comfort during hot summer travel. Further, the Snap has a padded bumper bar, padded chest straps and a padded seat. For parent comfort and convenience, the Snap has a large under seat basket with easy access and a high handle bar for caregivers of all heights. Both my husband and I are on the tall side and the Snap is much more comfortable to push than similar weighted travel strollers.

One of the features that can suffer when trying to keep a stroller light weight is the tires, but we’ve had no mobility issues with the Snap. The tires are large for a travel stroller at 8 and 10 inches and the never flat rubber aids in a smooth ride. For bumper terrain, you can lock the front set of wheels in the forward position. This made a big difference on sand and rocky paths.

Snap 3 vs. Snap 4. The Snap (or Snap 3) Stroller’s two front tires act as one. The Snap 4 Stroller has two front tires for four total, but is quite similar otherwise. The difference is really a matter of whether you prefer 3 or 4 wheels.

Add Color & Personality with the Vogue Hood

The beauty of investing in a good stroller is that you can use it with multiple children – and you definitely can with the Snap. But sometimes, whether you’re pushing a new tot or not, you want to change things up a bit and add a little color and personality to your stroller. The Vogue Hood is a fun stroller accessory that makes changing the look of your stroller a, yes, snap. With a range of bright colors from green to blue to red and other hues in between, there’s a Vogue Hood to suit your tastes. At only $45, it’s a great way to give your stroller a new look without spending a lot of money.

Check out how we make the switch from an all Gray Snap to a Blueberry stroller in the video. And, please, notice Max’s complimenting costume change. I’m rather proud of it.
