I have a confession. I don’t love summer. I don’t like being hot. Water/pool/beach is stressful with young kids.I miss the structure of the school year. But, do you know what I love about summer? Iced coffee. My idea of welcoming warm weather is getting an iced coffee drink at my local coffee shop. That, of course, adds up quickly and makes summer ridiculously expensive so I’m thrilled my beloved Keurig coffee brewer has the brilliant Brew Over Ice option to make iced coffee and tea drinks at home.
How to Brew Over Ice
- Fill a 16 oz. cup with ice and place Brew Over Ice K-Cup in your Keurig Brewer. (NOTE: Do NOT use glass cup. I brewed in a separate cup and put it in the glass cup to take photos.)
- Press the 6 oz. or 8 oz. brew button for optimal flavor.
- Stir and enjoy.
Now, I like my coffee “light and sweet” – lots of creamer and lots of sugar. Basically, it barely resembles coffee by the time I’m ready to drink it, but, hey, that’s what’s great about making it myself. I add sugar on top of the ice and before brewing. I stir the creamer in after the coffee’s brewed.
Brew Over Ice Varieties
The tremendous popularity of Keurig brewers equals a great variety in K-Cup flavors. It seems like every coffee brand from Starbucks to Dunkin Donuts offers their brew in the convenient little cups. At the moment, the variety isn’t as great for Brew Over Ice flavors, but there is an impressive number of brands making drinks specifically to brew over ice. If coffee isn’t your thing, there are many refreshing tea and fruit Brew Over Ice options.
Shop! If the Brew Over Ice capability has convinced you that the Keurig will change your life (not exaggerating, it changed my coffee-drinking-life), a range of brewers is available from our affiliate Amazon. Brew Over Ice K-Cups are also available on Amazon, but get the scoop on all varieties and where to buy at BrewOverIce.com.
I’m happy to be a Brew Over Ice Ambassador. As always, opinions are my own.
