It’s Friday! And, while I’m sure most of you will agree, I do believe this is my favorite day of the week! Why? Well, ’cause it’s Friday and the weekend is finally here! But, also because I simply love writing about my latest and greatest when it comes to style and fashion. This day, right here, is the icing on my cake.
So, what have I come up with this week? I’m back with a fun post today because a few weeks ago, I wrote to you about my love for Seychelle’s and they’re adorable, durable, and affordable line of shoes that I’ve been coming back to for years and years. Thankfully, this summer didn’t disappoint and I have snapped up yet another pair of versatile and simply perfect-for-summer pair of wedge heels that I honestly and truly want to wear with just about everything. They’re this wonderful sandy, tan hue that manages to compliment pretty much every color you put beside it.
It can be quite tricky, for me – especially because of my height (5’2”), to wear any type of shoe that has a strap around the ankle because it tends to make your legs appear shorter and proportions can get all out of whack. However, I happen to really like the look of an ankle strap so I manage to make this work, in spite of my shorter stature, by making sure the strap is both skinny and of a neutral color. In this case, with my favorite faux tan working along with me, you can barely even see that strap and it just gives a little extra subtle detail to the sandal.
To keep my summer dress momentum up and running, I’ve found this adorable seersucker number with these light blue and skinny stripes that is going to be a great piece to have in my closet. It’s a pretty dress for a casual date night, maybe a baby shower you’re attending, or even lunch with your girlfriends that will leave you feeling comfortable and dressed to impress, no matter what the occasion. This dress has a slight sweetheart neckline and adjustable straps so you can move them in a way that’s comfortable for you.
I also love the lower skirt half of this dress for it’s slightly “poofy” and fuller appearance. It’s very feminine, flirty, and just a great look for summer. I tend to gravitate more towards cuts and styles that are still flattering to my figure but that also take into consideration it’s most likely going to be hot and sunny outside which isn’t ideal for heavy and form fitting clothes. Do you also notice the overall length here? It’s right at the tip of my knees so, in my opinion, this is a great option for all you gals headed to work each day! I took the casual route with my denim jacket but you could easily swap out the denim for a cute cardigan or even a more structured black blazer. I think a pair of black strappy sandals would be adorable here, as well.
On to the jewels, yes? I won’t even let you know how many strands of pearls are scattered about my jewelry box or even on top of my dresser…nightstand…or wherever else there’s a spare space to hold all I deem to be necessary in my collection. But really, between pearls and the pricy diamond, I can’t think of anything more timeless when it comes to jewelry and therefore all purchases are clearly justified. Or – at least that’s what I keep telling myself (…and my husband!). Pearls are a wonderful choice here because I’m working with such a light and neural palette so the subtle ivory just seamlessly fit into the entire look. It adds a classy appeal, which I love, and the multi strands really give the neckline of this dress much more attention. I love layering my jewels this season and while it’s not too busy, my initial necklace is peeking out every-so-subtly under my statement necklace. On my wrist, stacking lightweight and bright gold bracelets are just easy and fuss-free during those long summer days.
Thanks for visiting with me today! I hope you’re headed into a nice relaxing weekend and I’ll be back next week with more fun, fashionable, and beauty filled tips and products! Have a great weekend!
